Short Description:
TREES – Training Routes Educate European Society is a project that addresses the topic “Promote education in and through sport with special focus on skills development” through the will to promote the social role of sports in nature and to foster the development of skills among volunteers on the management sports in naturalistic areas with respect for rules and traditions of those places.
Main objectives:
-rise awareness on unconventional and naturalistic sports such as trail running;
-increase the knowledge among amateurs and volunteers on the peculiar rules and methodologies of sports in nature, to improve safety, training and competition conditions;
-create networks for the internationalisation of competences, exchange of best practices and development of skills;
-promote voluntary activity in sport, social inclusion, equal opportunity sport for all and health enhancing activities;
-foster the social values of sports in n and their connection with traditions, history and culture;
-involve PA at local, regional and national level;
-contribute to the European Week of Sport 2019;
-produce tangible outputs: mapping of 5 trails for running and online publication with Guidelines for the mapping and management of trails.
These objectives will be reached through actions considered relevant to the topic selected:
-Awareness campaign on naturalistic sports and trail running;
-International Events for the mapping of new trails for trail running races;
-Open days on the protection and management of naturalistic areas and the importance of civic engagement and volunteering;
-Promotion of good governace and sport values among trail running teams;
-Training of athletes and volunteers on trail management and protection;
-Mapping of new trails in each involved Country;
-Guidelines for trail mapping.
